CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS

The major curricular requirements are :

ABET       

  • 16 hours of mathematical sciences
  • 16 hours of basic sciences
  • 16 hours of humanities and social sciences
  • 32 hours of engineering science
  • 16 hours of engineering design
  • other requirements that impact upon the courses selected to satisfy the above 96-hour distribution

BOR

  •  a core curricular requirement t hat, in part, requires that each student take a minimum of 6 hours of social sciences

SDSM&T

  • specifies the content of the mathematical sciences requirement
  • specifies 10 hours of the basic sciences requirement
  • requires a 9 hour English / Technical communication sequence
  • requires 2 hours of physical education
  • requires that one 3-hour course in the humanities or social sciences sequencebe at the advanced level

CEE

  • selects the courses designed to meet the ABET engineering science and engineering design components of the curriculum
  • selects other courses designed to meet other indirect ABET requirements
  • requires that the 3-hour advanced course in the humanities and social sciences sequence be either Law 457 or Pols 412
